Introduction:

What is a good use for knowing safety about fires? And why?

Fire is sometimes good, and other times, fire is bad

Reasons for being Important:

Fire safety is important as like i said in the introduction, when you accidentally do something which catches fire, you will know what to do with the fire itself. It is also important when someone else’s house is on fire, you can help them. This is especially important and useful when they do not know about Fire safety. This is also important when a major business is on fire. You might even help with Helping them to not make the business that damaged by fire.

Fire equipment:

There are multiple pieces of fire equipment. There are certain types below:

Fire hose:

This is a pretty useful thing. You most commonly find these “Helpful giants” in fire trucks. You can also find them in major company buildings. They are useful for Class A fire  Which of course is wood, paper and textiles. Bizarrely, They are also found occasionally at airport terminals.

Fire extinguisher:

There are certain types. for example:

Water:

This fire extinguisher is useful for Class A Fires which is wood, paper and textiles. This is not recommended for Live electrical fires.

Co2 or carbon dioxide:

This fire extinguisher is useful for Class B fires Which is flammable liquid and Live electrical fires which tells it by the name, it is Live electrical fires. You MUST NOT Hold it by the horn or hold the bottom of it whilst it is in operation.

Foam:

This fire extinguisher is useful for Class A Fires which is wood, paper and textiles and Class B fires Which is flammable liquid.

Wet chemical:

This fire extinguisher is useful for Class A Fires which is wood, paper and textiles, Class B fires Which is flammable liquid, Live electrical fires which tells it by the name, it is Live electrical fires and Class F fires, Which is Kitchen fires like hob or oven fires.

Dry powder:

This fire extinguisher is useful for Class A Fires which is wood, paper and textiles, Class B fires Which is flammable liquid, Class C Fires which are gas fires and Live electrical fires which tells it by the name, it is Live electrical fires.

Lithium powder:

This fire extinguisher is useful for Class D Fires which is metal fires.

Fire blanket:

A fire blanket are mainly used in public cookery rooms. These are useful when a hob is on fire, you simply take it out of its casing and place it on top of the burning pan. The blanket is white, whereas the casing is red In white words saying “FIRE BLANKET”.

Fire alarm:

These are the most important fire safety equipment. When there is a fire, you simply SMASH the safe glass on the fire alarm and will advise other people in the building to evacuate the building immediately. When I mean “Immediately”, I mean Immediately and calmly.

Fire classes.

You might not know about fire classes, but this section will teach you them in easy steps. Here are some below:

Class A:

This fire includes Wood, paper and textiles. You can distinguish this kind of fire using a water, Foam, Wet chemical or Dry powder fire extinguisher.

Class B:

This fire includes Flammable liquids. You can distinguish this kind of fire using a Co2 or carbon dioxide, Foam, Wet chemical or Dry powder fire extinguisher.

Class C:

This fire includes Gas related fires. You can distinguish this kind of fire using a Dry powder fire extinguisher.

Live electrical equipment:

This fire includes Live electrical equipment. You can distinguish this kind of fire using a Co2 or carbon dioxide, Wet chemical or Dry powder fire extinguisher.

Class D:

This fire includes Metal fires. This fire can be distinguished using a lithium powder fire extinguisher.

Class F:

This fire includes Kitchen related fires like hob or oven fires. You can distinguish this kind of fire using a Wet chemical fire extinguisher. You can also distinguish hob related fires with a fire blanket.

What should you do when you see a fire?

If you see a fire and there is a nearby fire alarm, Activate the fire alarm by smashing the safe glass on the nearest fire alarm. If there is a nearby fire extinguisher which has got YOUR related fire and you know how to use it, use it. Once, all outside, dial 999

What if the nearest fire alarm is far away?

If the nearest fire alarm is far away, Shout “FIRE!” first then smash the safe glass on the nearest fire alarm. If there is a nearby fire extinguisher which has got YOUR related fire and you know how to use it, use it. Once, all outside, dial 999

What if there is no fire alarm at all?

If there is no fire alarm at all, then shout “FIRE!” immediately. If there is a nearby fire extinguisher which has got YOUR related fire and you know how to use it, use it. Once, all outside, dial 999

What if I hear the fire alarm?

Leave the building immediately, walking quickly and calmly, with no running. If you run, you might accidentally trip over.
